The following terms and conditions apply to all courses delivered by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited and its website (www.2fathers.co.nz).

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By using the services offered by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited, registering for a course (whether paid, via direct credit, or on account), or submitting any online forms on our website (www.2fathers.co.nz), you indicate your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Definitions

The terms used herein are defined as follows:

  • “Service” or “Services” refers to any service provided by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited, including training courses.
  • “We,” “Us,” and “Our” refer to 2Fathers Driver Training Limited.
  • “You” and “Your” refer to users and/or visitors of the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website.
  • “Product” includes any training service, course, or other goods offered for registration, sale, or purchase on our website.
  • “Customer” or “Customers” refers to any person who buys or registers for a service on the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website.

These terms are designed to outline the rights and responsibilities in relation to our services. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions may change from time to time. All changes will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. It is the responsibility of all 2Fathers Driver Training Limited customers to stay informed about the latest terms and conditions. Your continued use of the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Course Prerequisites

You must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English to attend the course. If English is your second language, please contact us before booking to discuss available options.

We strive to support individuals with learning difficulties or neurodiversity; please reach out in advance if you require assistance. You’re permitted to bring a reader or writer if necessary.

Study guides for the course will be available before your attendance once the course fees are paid in full.

During theory assessments, it is a closed-book exam—no learning materials or phones may be used to help you with answers.

You must possess at least a Learner Licence for the Class of Licence course you are enrolled in before attending the course.

Under the terms and conditions, can we add (and also in the course email it sends out)

While we strive to conduct practical training and assessments immediately after completing the theory component of the course, we cannot guarantee they will take place on the same day as your theory course due to scheduling constraints. If this poses a problem, please contact 2Fathers Driver Training Limited before booking to discuss the options.

If you are supplying your own vehicle for the practical assessment, the following applies:

Trucks:

It must be a vehicle for which the class of licence you hold (or are attending the course for) applies.

It must contain a load that:

  • Is evenly distributed and secured in accordance with The Official NZ Truck Loading Code, and
  • It is loaded to at least 50% of the vehicle’s permitted payload. Payload is calculated as the lesser of the RUC max or the GVM (as per the Certificate of Loading), minus the vehicle’s tare weight.

In Addition to the above:

  • For Class 2 trucks, the total assessment weight must also be above 6,000 kg.
  • For Class 4 trucks, the total assessment weight must also be above 18,000 kg.
  • For Class 5 trucks, the total assessment weight of the combination must be above 25,000 kg.

You can use a motorhome, if you supply it (it cannot be supplied by 2Fathers Driver Training).

Passenger service vehicles (buses) may be used provided that:

  • It meets the minimum class of licence for which you are applying.
  • It has approved seating for more than 20 people (the driver plus at least 20 passengers).

Vehicles that do not meet these minimum requirements may not be used.

Insurance and Indemnity

The client is responsible for all insurance-related risks concerning any vehicles, equipment, and loads provided by them for use by their drivers/operators and our instructors during training. Except where we have expressly accepted responsibility under these terms, you agree to protect us from any legal action taken against us and to cover any costs, losses, or expenses we incur in connection with your use of our website or any failure to comply with these terms.

Service Guarantees

The services provided by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited are covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act. We provide training services that are fit for purpose and delivered with reasonable care, skill, and responsibility. Your rights regarding the provision and supply of services are protected by legislation. More information is available from The Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Your Information

As a user of the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website, you confirm that you have provided complete, accurate, and current personal or business information. 2Fathers Driver Training Limited may call or mail you to verify these details. Without limiting any other rights or remedies we may have, you agree not to allow anyone else to use your details or customer information for the purchase of services through the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website.

Course Schedule

The course schedule published on the website is subject to change without notice. Courses are updated as new information becomes available, including the availability of spaces. While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information provided, errors may occur from time to time. If there is any incorrect information on the website, registrants will be contacted, and alternative options discussed.

Course Fees

Course fees are typically provided verbally or in writing prior to course registration and are also available on our website. Registering for or attending a course indicates that the client has accepted the fees. All prices listed on the website are in New Zealand dollars and are subject to change without notice. The quoted prices indicate whether 15% GST (Goods and Services Tax) is included.

Courier fees for course materials may apply unless otherwise stated.

NZQA Credit Registration

2Fathers Driver Training Limited registers NZQA Credits on behalf of the student through MITO. Registration for NZQA credits is mandatory. These credits are based on specific unit standards completed as part of a course and are added to your record of learning maintained by NZQA. These credits serve as evidence of your completion of unit standards and qualifications. The costs associated with delivering the course, registering the credits, and managing credit registration are included in your course price. Additional costs, such as NZTA licence fees or medical certification fees, will be mentioned on the course detail page.

Confirmation of Order / Course Registration

All customers will receive a confirmation email upon payment receipt, direct credit request, or when an account is selected for course registration through the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website. After course payment, customers will also receive an invoice for their order.

Please note that submitting a contact form, onsite request form, or email request does not constitute course registration. Course registration is only confirmed once payment is made and any prerequisites (if applicable) are verified.

Attendee Numbers

When booking for multiple attendees or conducting a course on site, a minimum number of attendees is required. If the number of attendees changes:

– Additional fees will apply for any increase in attendees according to the advertised or agreed registration costs.

– A reduction in the number of attendees will fall under our cancellation policy or minimum number requirements.

Payment Terms

For clients with approved credit accounts, the course fee will be invoiced upon completion of each course. Full payment is required no later than the 20th of the month following the invoice date. Late or non-payment may incur collection and/or legal fees, for which the client accepts full responsibility by registering for or attending the course.

For clients without an approved credit account, full payment is required at the time of registration. Course materials will not be distributed until full payment is received.

Online Payment

We accept payments for purchases made through the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website via credit cards (only Visa and MasterCard are accepted) or through Account to Account transfers. All charges are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. Credit card payments are processed at the time of purchase using the Paymark secure payment system, which is a secure payment gateway verified by a security certificate for your protection. Please note that credit card payments incur a 3% surcharge.

Direct Credit

When you register for a course using the direct credit option, your registration will remain a request until payment is received. For popular courses, it is recommended that you make prompt payment, as registered participants will be given priority.

On Account

To enable a payment on account, you must have a credit account with 2Fathers Driver Training Limited, which must be approved before course registration. Please contact 2Fathers Driver Training Limited Services if you wish to apply for a credit account.

Attendance

If a start time for a training course is provided, that time is the actual start time. Times are specified to ensure that the required learning for the course can be delivered within the allotted time. Trainers from 2Fathers Driver Training Limited reserve the right to refuse entry to any attendee if they arrive after the course has already begun, and the standard cancellation policy will apply (see the cancellation policy above).

Course Materials and Required Reading

Course materials may include pre-course reading and, in some instances, course assessments. Materials related to any pre-work for courses will be delivered following full payment to ensure you have sufficient time to acquire the necessary knowledge and complete any required assessments.

Emails, Newsletters, and Reminders  Email Communications

2Fathers Driver Training Limited may send you emails regarding products purchased, transactions, and other activities on our website. These emails may also include promotional materials for other products and services offered by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited, including new courses, notifications, and special offers. Additionally, we may send regular electronic newsletters to our customers. Each newsletter will contain clear instructions on how to unsubscribe from our mailing list. If you prefer not to receive these electronic communications, please contact us to have your name removed. If a course requires a refresher in the future, we will notify you directly through mail, email, text, or phone.

Termination

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without notice, to terminate your account and access to 2Fathers Driver Training Limited or our website services if we believe you have breached these Terms and Conditions. We may also, at our sole discretion and without notice, discontinue some or all products and services offered by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited.

Confidentiality / Intellectual Property / Copyright

Any proposal or quotation submitted by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited is considered commercially confidential and should not be disclosed to any third party. The intellectual property of our courses and course materials is protected by copyright and may not be used or copied without our written permission.

The material on the 2Fathers Driver Training Limited website (www.2fathers.co.nz) is owned by 2Fathers Driver Training Limited, unless otherwise noted. This material may not be reproduced in any format or medium for commercial, non-commercial, or informational purposes without prior written consent from us. Quality Assurance & Health and Safety

As part of our Quality Management System, we have established processes for the internal and external moderation and evaluation of all our training and assessment. We also have a formal Health and Safety Policy and Plan that our instructors are required to follow.

Continuity

To ensure consistency in content and quality, we provide continuity by bringing in a replacement instructor if a local instructor is unavailable for any reason. We deliver the same courses throughout the country.

General Terms

In the event of a dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions, the New Zealand courts will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes. If we do not exercise or enforce any right available to us under these Terms, it does not constitute a waiver of those rights. We may transfer this agreement or any benefits or obligations under this agreement to any person without notice to you. You may not transfer any benefits or obligations to another person without our written consent. Each part of these Terms is separately binding; if any part is unenforceable, the remaining parts will still be binding.

We strive to ensure that the information on this website is accurate to the best of 2Fathers Driver Training Limited’s knowledge. However, nothing on this website constitutes or is intended to constitute advice of any kind.   • Authorise us to obtain personal information about You, via Your Registration Form and Your use of 2Fathers Driver Training and Our Services.
  • Authorise us to use Your personal information for direct marketing and promotional activities, research and development purposes, identity verification, and otherwise in respect of the provision of Our Services to You.
  • Agree that further notification to You of the purpose of the collection of Your personal information is unnecessary and non-compliance with the requirements of Principle 3 of the Privacy Act 1993 is authorised.

Course Information

Class 2

Fee: From $1,200
Time: 8am to 3pm
Days: 2 days

The Class 2 Course is designed to provide comprehensive training and assessment for individuals looking to obtain a Full Class 2 Driver Licence.

Over two days, participants will cover Unit Standard 24089 – Fatigue Management, Work Time, and Driver Logbook Requirements, as well as, Unit Standard 17574 – Operate a Rigid Vehicle to meet the requirements for a full Class 2 Licence.

Following theory completion, participants will also undergo a practical assessment at a mutually agreed time. This course offers an efficient and effective pathway towards acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in Class 2 driving.

Class 4

Fee: From $1,000
Time: 8am to 1pm
Days: 1 day or 2 days with Unit 24089

This course is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate a rigid vehicle in order to obtain a Full Class 4 Driver Licence. The course covers Unit Standard 17576 and includes one day of in-class theory. Participants will then undergo an in-vehicle practical assessment at a later mutually agreed time.

It is important to note that if evidence of previous completion of Unit Standard 24089 is not provided, participants must include the Logbook Course add-on at the time of booking. The logbook course runs the day prior and details will be sent seperately.

Evidence must either be:

  • A copy of your driver licence course completion certificate.
  • Confirmation of unit standard completion from the training provider you completed the course with.
  • Please note: NZQA Records of Learning cannot be accepted as evidence.

Prices include GST.

Class 5

Fee: From $1,100
Time: 8am to 1pm
Days: 1 day or 2 days with Unit 24089

This course is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate a rigid vehicle in order to obtain a Full Class 5 Driver Licence. The course covers Unit Standard 17577 and includes one day of in-class theory. Participants will then undergo an in-vehicle practical assessment at a later mutually agreed time.

It is important to note that if evidence of previous completion of Unit Standard 24089 is not provided, participants must include the Logbook Course add-on at the time of booking. The logbook course runs the day prior and details will be sent seperately.

Evidence must either be:
