Class 2 Licence Course NZ | 2Fathers Driving Training

Class 2 Licence Course NZ - 2.5 Days. Includes free Pen, Mini Torch and Logbook.

To drive any Rigid Vehicle with a GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) of between 6001kgs and up to 18,000Kg or a tuck and trailer combination not exceeding 12,000Kg you require a Class 2 Heavy Vehicle Licence.

Prerequisite: You must hold your Class 2L (Learner Licence) before you're able to sit this course. For information on gaining your licence - refer to the NZTA. 

The Class 2 Licence time reduction course is made up of 3 components which are compulsory:

Day 1 - Unit standard 24089 - 
Demonstrate knowledge of driving hours law, Fatigue Management and complete driver logbook. This Theory course takes approximately 7 hours
Day 2 - Unit Standard 17574 - 
Demonstrate knowledge of driver licensing requirements for Class 2 full Licence. This theory unit takes approximiately 5 hours.
Practical Training & Assessment – 
Depending on prior experience, students are given (as included with the course) up to 2 hours of practical driver training in a Class 2 vehicle prior to undertaking their practical assessment. 
The practical assessment is carried out after the theory component has been successfully completed. The assessment requires the trainee to have knowledge and skill to complete the following but is not limited to:
Inspect a heavy rigid motor vehicle for legal compliance.
Drive a heavy motor vehicle in different traffic and road conditions.
Manoeuvre a heavy rigid vehicle in reverse.
Park and secure a heavy rigid vehicle.
To maintain a driving hours logbook.
